30年以上、バイクプラモデルを作り続けている愛知県の男性を取材。青春時代に憧れたバイクをリアルに再現する、驚きのテクニックとは？
８０年代後半、市販のマシンで最強と謳われた、HONDA VFR７５０Ｒ（ヴイ エフ アール ななひゃくごじゅう アール）。実は、1/１２サイズのプラモデル。ディテールにまでこだわった作りに、美しいカラーリング。本物と見紛う(みまがう)ばかりの出来映えです。
作者は愛知県碧南市に住む男性。バイクプラモデルを作って３５年の長野裕治（ながの ゆうじ）さん。ガレージに置かれたガラスケースには、これまで長野さんが作った、自慢のプラモデルが並びます。憧れのバイクだからこそ、細部も手を抜かず、本物そっくりに仕上げる。しかも、プラモデルを作る際には、カウリングをはずしたバイクも一緒に作るのが、長野流。いったい、なぜ、同じプラモデルを２台作るのか？そこには、バイク好きプラモデラーならではの、こだわりと探究心がありました。

The attention to detail and beautiful coloring are wonderful. It’s a work of art that could be mistaken for the real thing. The creator is this man who lives in Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture.
Yuji Nagano has been building motorcycle plastic models for 35 years.
In a glass case in the garage, there is a display of plastic models that he has built and is proud of. Because it’s the bike of his dreams, he doesn’t skimp on the details and makes it look just like the real thing. Moreover, when he builds a plastic model, it is his style to build another model of the same type with the cowling removed.
Why does he make two identical plastic models? The reason for this was the commitment and inquisitiveness that only a lover of plastic models of motorcycles can have.
